Apple is planning to introduce several new features with iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 10. These features, shared during the WWDC 23 event, will become available alongside the unveiling of the iPhone 15 in September. It can be said that one of the most anticipated features during this period is NameDrop.
NameDrop feature won’t be limited to iPhone models
The NameDrop feature, planned to be introduced with iOS 17, allows automatic contact sharing when two devices are brought together. This feature, which will significantly simplify the process of sharing contact numbers, doesn’t seem to be restricted to only iPhone models.
A code review expert named Aaron mentioned in a post on Twitter (X) that the upcoming NameDrop feature will also be usable on Apple Watch models. After examining the latest beta version of watchOS 10, the expert emphasized that the NameDrop feature was present.
With Apple’s new feature, users will now only need to bring their iPhone and Apple Watch models close to each other when sharing phone numbers. This communication sharing feature will be usable between iPhone models with iOS 17 and Apple Watch models with watchOS 10. NameDrop will also allow information exchange between two Apple Watches.
The US-based tech giant will introduce the next generation of iPhones, iPads, and smartwatch models on September 12, 2023, during an event. Additionally, Apple will share details about iOS 17 and other operating systems during this event. Until this event, we plan to gather more details about the devices and operating systems.
Apple aims to enhance interactions between its devices with new features, providing a better ecosystem experience. So, what are your thoughts on iOS 17, watchOS 10, and the NameDrop feature? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
