Released in 2009, WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular instant messaging application today. Its easy-to-use interface, understandable by people of all ages, and the requirement of only an internet connection to chat, are among the fundamental reasons for its popularity.
Since its inception, WhatsApp has undergone significant changes. Apart from introducing numerous new features, the interface has been continuously updated to keep up with the times. Recently, it has been revealed that WhatsApp is working on a new Settings page for the iOS platform.
Farewell to Settings, Welcome to You in WhatsApp for iOS!
The latest update with version number 23.11.0.75, offered to iOS users through TestFlight for WhatsApp, unveils the removal of the Settings page and the introduction of a redesigned “You” page.
Looking at the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, a source for WhatsApp-related content, we see that the icon for the “You” page, which appears in the bottom menu, is not the usual Settings icon; instead, it displays the profile picture.
Transitioning to the “You” section, a different interface is presented. A button for creating a QR code, providing easy access to your WhatsApp account, is placed over the profile picture. The profile description is visible just below the name.
Further down the page, three large buttons have been added beneath the account information section, namely “Profile,” “Privacy,” and “Contacts.” These sections, which are frequently visited within the app, are displayed larger than other options, making them more accessible.
Continuing to scroll downward, the same options from the existing Settings page are observed. Only the order of some buttons appears to be different. Apart from the aforementioned changes, no other significant alterations are apparent.
The revamped “You” page, formerly known as “Settings,” is currently accessible to beta users and is expected to roll out to everyone in the near future. For now, all that’s left is to wait. Additionally, there is a curious anticipation about whether these changes will also be implemented on the Android platform.
WhatsApp’s “You” page seems to align with the recently introduced Multi-Account feature. What are your thoughts on this matter? Feel free to share your opinions with us in the Comments section below.
