With millions of subscribers, Netflix, the world’s largest digital streaming service, welcomes brand new content to its library every month; however, on the other hand, content bidding farewell to the platform is also not uncommon. Recently, the popular series “Shooter” is also departing from Netflix.
Popular sniper series bids farewell to Netflix!
Due to the content being removed from the platform recently, Netflix has received a considerable amount of negative criticism from its subscribers. After removing the popular youth series “Teen Wolf” from its library in the past months, the platform is now taking down “Shooter.”
Directed by John Hlavin, the “Shooter” series left Netflix’s US library a few months ago. The production will also depart from content lists of all other countries, including Turkey, on September 21. In other words, it won’t be watchable on Netflix anymore.
No official statement has been given for the removal of “Shooter” from Netflix. However, speculations suggest that the end of the agreement between the company and the production firm to broadcast the series on the platform might be the reason.
Adapted from a 1997 film of the same name, the “Shooter” series, consisting of a total of 3 seasons and 31 episodes, emerged. Captivating the audience with its action, the series revolves around Bob Lee Swagger, a former sniper.
Swagger, who holds numerous medals due to his successful military career, finds himself entangled in a conspiracy following a major assassination attempt. He must fight to free himself from this conspiracy. Nominated for various awards in different fields, the “Shooter” series boasts notable names from the film industry in its cast, including Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
