The previous record holder was Christopher Nolan’s Batman movie The Dark Knight. Released in 2008, the movie grossed $536 million.
However, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is still in first place worldwide. With $1.34 billion at the box office, the latest Harry Potter installment holds the title of Warner Bros.’ highest-grossing movie. Barbie, on the other hand, earned $1.19 billion worldwide.
The lead actress of the Barbie film, Margot Robbie, has been revealed to have earned a substantial amount from the movie.
The highest-earning movie this year was The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released in April. It earned 1.3 billion dollars worldwide. However, Barbie is expected to be the highest grossing movie of 2023.
This success has fueled rumors of a Barbie sequel. Although Barbie 2 has not yet been confirmed, the success of the movie cannot be ignored.
