Since Elon Musk became the new owner of Twitter (X), there have been many changes. In addition to these changes, notable features continue to be introduced to the platform. Unverified accounts won’t be able to respond on X!
Renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk has made several changes to X (Twitter) since acquiring it. The most notable change came approximately 11 months after he started paid verification for Twitter Blue. With this change, users who wish to can become verified accounts with a blue badge by paying a certain fee.
Now, X has activated a new feature. According to this feature, users on the platform can limit who can respond to their posts to only verified accounts. This allows users to control their target audience.
The purpose of this feature, which has been tested over the past few months, is to reduce deception and misinformation. Recently, X mentioned that only 20% of its users share something consistently. However, the majority of interactions on the platform come from replies and quotes.
Considering all of this, the restriction on X users could potentially have negative consequences for the platform. On the other hand, many users would like to have as many responses as possible, so limiting the target audience may not be appealing to most people. This situation could leave users in a dilemma.
