    Apple, the biggest name in the technology world, revealed the damage caused by data breaches this year in a report.

    Security risks are increasing in the developing world of technology. Companies are introducing many new features related to user security. However, data breaches have been on the rise recently. Apple shared an important report both to warn its users and to reveal the situation in the industry.

    In a post today, Apple revealed the extent of data breaches in the smartphone world. It included a study conducted by MIT professor Dr. Stuart Madnick, which revealed that 2.6 billion personal records have been compromised in the last two years due to data breaches. The study also contains serious warnings.

    • In the first three quarters of 2023 in the new report;
    • Ransomware attacks increased by 70 percent compared to 2022
    • 98 percent of companies have a relationship with a vendor that experienced a data breach
    • More than 360 million people have been victims of data breaches
    • Health data of 1 in 4 people exposed

    MIT professor Dr. Stuart Madnick referred to the advanced end-to-end encryption feature developed by Apple in December last year. Suggesting that this security should be taken into account by users, Madnick included the following sentences.

    In January 2023, Apple rolled out Advanced Data Protection globally, which included end-to-end encryption and other security measures for the majority of users’ iCloud data, including iCloud Backup and Photos.
