Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that Cybertruck will be able to travel on both water and land. Thanks to the new function called “Boat Mode”, it will be possible to use Cybertruck within a certain water distance. This option draws attention with its absence in other pickups.
Tesla Cybertruck will be able to travel in 100 meters of water
According to Elon Musk, Boat Mode is currently under development. With this feature, drivers will be able to submerge the Cybertruck in 100 meters of water like a boat. According to Tesla, this will be possible with advanced door seals that prevent water from entering the cabin.
A more innovative feature coming to Cybertruck is “Wade Mode”. This feature will elevate the vehicle using the Cybertruck’s suspension system. This will actively pressurize the battery as it passes through the water. The pressurized battery will prevent water from penetrating and damaging electrical components.
It’s worth noting that some electric vehicles have the ability to drive on water, but use classic metal techniques. Tesla’s pressure-based approach protects the battery. This approach could play an important role in the conversion of off-road vehicles to electrification.
It is not known when Techno and Wade modes will be available for Cybertruck. However, Musk says that they are actively developing both features and can only be used by changing the outer door seals.
On the other hand, Hongqi, known for producing luxury vehicles, recently revealed the durability of its new SUV model. Hongqi HS5 challenged the fireball and passed through the brick wall.
