So how did astronomers obtain this more detailed image? Scientists have investigated Doppler/Einstein effects, which cause a black hole to appear brighter on one side. Researchers examined the image taken in 2017 and 2019. They discovered that the highlight shifted to the right between capturing the two images. In this way, they were able to obtain a sharper and more detailed image.

Scientists plan to capture multiple images of a black hole in the future. In fact, researchers want to create the first video of a black hole from the photographs it captures. They think this work will help showcase the chaotic nature of the black hole.
