Important agreements are being signed within the scope of Turkey’s domestic and national defense industry projects. Domestic companies such as TAI, Baykar, Aselsan, Roketsan, Nurol Makina, FNSS are exporting abroad at record values. Following the export news we shared in the past months, the number of AKINCI TİHAs sold was revealed. Here is the record deal and “How many AKINCIs did Saudi Arabia buy?” The answer to the question…
How many AKINCI TİHAs did Saudi Arabia purchase for 3.1 billion dollars?
Baykar signed a new agreement with Saudi Arabia in recent months. Within the scope of the agreement, the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia made a record payment of 3.1 billion dollars to Baykar to purchase AKINCI TİHA. In the meantime, while production continued, new details about the agreement emerged.
The agreement is a record value for the unmanned aerial vehicle class. Within the scope of the agreement, only AKINCI TİHA will not be sold. In addition, the contract, which includes the establishment of a production line in Saudi Arabia, will also ensure that the ammunition to be used in UAVs will be produced in Saudi Arabia. In this regard, Saudi Arabia made contracts with ASELSAN and Roketsan.
Within the scope of the agreement, a total of 60 AKINCI TİHAs will be delivered to Saudi Arabia. According to estimates, the production of AKINCI UAVs ordered by Arabia has started. Deliveries are planned to be made in 2025 and 2026. So far, Baykar has exported AKINCI TİHA to a total of 9 countries with the agreement with Saudi Arabia.
