Already available on iOS, Mac desktop and WhatsApp Web, the feature is finally coming to Android. Now you’ll be able to easily search for WhatsApp old messages by date without having to dig through chats to find them.
You’ll be able to navigate to the date to find WhatsApp old messages on Android
Mark Zuckerberg announced this new feature on his WhatsApp channel. He even shared a video of him searching for an old Karaoke chat.
To search for a chat on a specific date, tap on the relevant contact or group chat. Then press the search button just below the contact or group name. Depending on the WhatsApp version, you may also need to tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Search.
When you see the calendar, tap it and select the exact date you want. You can now access that day’s messages directly with this method. However, this feature is limited to finding a conversation on a date. So, it is not possible if you intend to search across a date range.

Previously, WhatsApp search was all about keywords. When you typed a word, you had to search for all messages with that keyword one by one.
With the new feature, users no longer have to scroll endlessly to find what they’re looking for. Just remember the date of a particular message or media file and the rest is easy.
