LinkedIn is testing a new video feed feature reminiscent of TikTok and Instagram, featuring vertical videos. Although this feature has not been officially announced, it has been noticed by users and companies in recent days. The new feed is expected to appear in a separate “video” tab within the LinkedIn app. Users will be able to scroll vertically and switch between clips, similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels.
A business-oriented new feature is now on LinkedIn!
This development was revealed through a screenshot shared by Instagram employee Jenny Eishingdrelo and a statement made by Austin Null, LinkedIn’s Influencer marketing manager. Here are the details of LinkedIn’s new feature…
It’s not surprising that LinkedIn is adopting this format. Previously, LinkedIn conducted a trial for temporary posts. Following these trials, it introduced the Stories feature, which lasted for a year.
However, video trials during that time were not yet completed. LinkedIn was working to transform the Stories format into a redesigned video experience across LinkedIn.
This new feed feature will be available for professional business people and thought leaders on LinkedIn. LinkedIn hopes to create a platform for users to share content related to their workplaces. However, it’s still uncertain how much interest users will show in a business-focused video feed.
The new feature being tested by LinkedIn has potential in terms of functionality. However, whether users will show interest remains uncertain. What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to share your opinions with us in the Comments section.
