As retro game enthusiasts know, emulators have been available for download on the App Store in recent weeks. There was another good development on this. Delta, the popular retro game emulator, is coming to iPads. The iPad version of Delta is almost completed by developer Riley Testut.
Delta retro game emulator is almost ready for iPad
In an announcement made on Threads this past weekend, Testut stated that Delta is almost complete for iPad, with only the controller skins to be finalized and some bugs to be fixed. Initially, bringing Delta to the iPad was not a development priority, as plans were to release the emulator on a limited basis through the alternative app store AltStore PAL, which does not support the iPad.

But Testut’s plans changed when Apple announced earlier this month that it would allow retro game emulators in the App Store, reversing its policy from years ago. Delta launched for free on the App Store in the US and other countries on April 17th, and users contributed to its development by supporting the developer through Patreon.
Delta has received a lot of attention since its release on the App Store. Users lined up to play classic retro games from the NES, SNES, N64, Nintendo DS, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. The emulator works with popular game controllers and supports cheats, save states, backups, synchronization and much more.
With Delta coming to iPad, gamers will be able to enjoy retro gaming on a bigger screen. Features such as fast forward, a “hold” button for buttons that need to be pressed continuously, and Haptic Touch support will also be available for iPad users.
The Delta iPad app will be available when Delta 1.6 is available on the App Store. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
