Huawei made a big impact with the Kirin processor used in the Mate 60 and Pura 70 series. It was claimed that the processors developed with a Chinese company will be extended to computers. It was stated that the Huawei Kirin laptop processor is at a level to compete with Apple M3.
Huawei Kirin PC processor specifications leaked
Huawei has reportedly completed work on the most powerful laptop-focused Kirin chip ever. The company, which wants to shake the seat of Apple, which dominates the laptop market with the MacBook, is working on an 8-core processor.
Although not yet officially announced, some technical specifications of the processor have emerged. The chip, called Kirin PC, is said to feature 8 high-performance Taishan cores and an Adreno 920 GPU.
The performance results are quite remarkable. Leaks from China showed that it will compete with Apple M2 in graphics processing thanks to Adreno 920. Taishan cores are said to approach the multi-core performance of the Apple M3.
Huawei is actually in the laptop market, albeit on a small scale. It powers some computers in China with its Kirin 9006C model. But the new processor will represent a big step for the company and will put it directly up against Apple.
The Kirin PC chip is also rumored to support up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The two variants, codenamed ‘Pro’ and ‘Max’, could launch alongside the Mate 70 series in September.
