This groundbreaking technology, available as a licensing program for laptop, desktop, and accessory manufacturers, opens up a world of possibilities for users. With Thunderbolt Share, you can seamlessly share peripherals like mice, keyboards, displays, storage devices, and USB accessories between two computers equipped with Thunderbolt 4 or 5 connections. This means lightning-fast file transfer speeds, drag-and-drop capabilities, and real-time data synchronization.
Thunderbolt Share also offers low-latency, uncompressed display mirroring with 1080p resolution and 60fps, allowing users to extend their desktop experience. Connection can be established through a Thunderbolt dock or monitor, making it incredibly convenient.
While internet connection sharing is not yet supported, Intel is exploring options for other operating systems, with Windows currently being the only supported platform.
The software requires a license for each connected PC, with Intel offering additional licensing fees to OEMs for inclusion in new hardware. Users will receive one license with their first Thunderbolt Share PC, and an additional license with each accessory purchase.
With major hardware partners like Acer, Lenovo, MSI, and Razer, and accessory providers like Belkin, Kensington, Plugable, and Promise Technology already on board, Thunderbolt Share is set to revolutionize the way we connect and collaborate.
