Apple will introduce iOS 18 at today’s WWDC 2024 event. Before the event, many information about the new operating system has emerged. The latest leaks revealed iOS/iPadOS 18 compatible iPhone and iPad models.
iOS 18 compatible iPhone models
An X user, known for his Apple leaks, discussed the distribution details of iOS 18 in his latest report. Accordingly, he claimed that iPhone XR and newer models will receive iOS 18. This means that all devices compatible with iOS 17 will be upgraded to the next operating system.
iOS 18 support extends to iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR models using the A12 Bionic chip. Older iPhone models will not be able to run iOS 18. The compatibility list includes iPhone 11 through iPhone 15, iPhone SE 2nd and 3rd generation, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
The leak particularly highlighted iOS 18’s AI-powered “Apple Intelligence” features. However, not all of these features may not be supported on iPhone models. So we may not see all artificial intelligence innovations in models like iPhone XS.

On the iPad side, iPadOS 18 is rumored not to come to the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. The first generation iPad Pro was released in 2015. The sixth-generation iPad, which debuted in 2018, will also lose support.
