Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is on its way, but From Software hasn’t forgotten about players who won’t be purchasing the DLC. The company is adding a bunch of new content in a free update coming to Elden Ring on Thursday, June 20.
Elden Ring free update brings new hairstyles
This update is significant because it not only brings the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack, but also several improvements to the base game. According to Elden Ring’s social media accounts, the update brings bug fixes, balance adjustments and a number of new features.
For example, after installing the update, it will now be possible to see all recently received items at a glance (previously, new items would just disappear in a pile, making it almost impossible to tell what you’ve received). Newly acquired items will be marked with an exclamation mark and the Recent Items tab will be added to the inventory.
There are also some changes to Call Pools. After the update, Active Call Pools will be moved to NG+ mode and there will be an option to enable or disable individual Call Pools in the newly added Map Functions menu. FromSoftware notes that only active Call Pools will be selected when using the Small Golden Statue.
Finally, there are currently five new hairstyles available, which can be applied during character creation, when using the Cloudy Mirror Stand, or through Rennala’s Rebirth feature.
On June 20th, this update is coming, and on June 21st, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will be released. What do you think? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
