Apple is adding significant features to the Mail app with iOS 18. The update will bring 7 important features designed to make email management more efficient and user-friendly. Here’s a look at the most notable updates:

Categorization
No more losing emails in your inbox. Apple Mail will categorize your emails intelligently. Personal messages will go into Primary, order confirmations and receipts into Transactions, newsletters and notifications into Updates, and advertisements into Promotions.

Summary View
Finding the email you need is easier. For example, you can group emails by sender to quickly find all your Turkish Airlines tickets with a single click. You can also easily move emails that ended up in the wrong category to the correct one.

Highlighting Unread Emails
Unread emails will be prioritized in the new categories, reducing the risk of missing important messages. Older emails will be pushed to the background, while new ones will remain more visible.

Smart Replies
Artificial intelligence comes into play here. With Smart Replies, you can generate appropriate and quick responses to your emails. Apple’s AI will even remind you of what to consider while replying.

Email Summaries
For those who don’t want to deal with long emails, iOS 18 will offer summaries of each email. You’ll be able to quickly save time with a summary view. This could be a lifesaver for those with a busy schedule.

Priority Messages
Time-sensitive and important emails won’t be missed. The Priority Messages section will keep crucial notifications like flight check-ins and meeting cancellations at the top.

Writing Tools
AI will assist you here as well. With the new Writing Tools, you can draft your emails in a more professional, friendly (conversational), or concise manner. You can even have the AI review and rewrite the text if desired.
