After Parasite hit theaters in 2019, Bong Joon Ho is back in the director’s chair with what appears to be another impactful film. Mickey 17, which will fall under the sci-fi category, offers some intriguing details in its trailer. The film is adapted from Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey 7.

The book follows a disposable worker sent to colonize the icy world of Niflheim. While the novel tracks the seventh incarnation of the character, the film portrays him dying several times. The film’s synopsis focuses on the protagonist Mickey Barnes, who is in a work situation that demands extreme dedication to his employer, encapsulated by the slogan “Dying to make a living.”
