MSI is back at it again with the 0x12B microcode to solve the instability issues with Intel’s 13th and 14th generation processors. MSI stability update for Intel processors
In fact, the problem with Intel’s 13th and 14th generation processors was caused by a malfunction in the clock signal circuitry in the IA Core section of the processor. Especially during prolonged use and under high load, the processor’s minimum operating voltage, called Vmin Shift, would deviate. This would cause the processors to throw unexpected errors and cause the system to become unstable.
MSI’s new 0x12B microcode includes fixes from the previous 0x125 and 0x128 codes. It also fixes voltage spike issues that occur during low load or idle operation. This update is currently available for the Z790 and B760 motherboard models. However, other models such as the MEG Z790 GODLIKE are expected to be available shortly.
The incoming BIOS update will allow users to use their processors with confidence. We should also mention that potential freezing or error issues have been greatly reduced. In the meantime, MSI advises users to install this update as soon as possible.
