Sony’s highly anticipated PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Special Edition has been met with a huge response following its launch in the UK. Despite a hefty price tag of £960 (around £44,000 before taxes), this special pack sold out within 24 hours. Here are the details…

Celebrating the PlayStation brand’s 30 years of influence in the gaming world, this special edition package was not only limited to the console but also included many collector’s items. The most striking product in the package is the PS5 5 Pro console itself, equipped with 2TB SSD and Wi-Fi 7 support… The console, which impresses with its special 30th anniversary-themed design, was appreciated by game lovers despite its high price.

The package also includes two controllers: The standard 30th anniversary-themed DualSense wireless controller and the DualSense Edge wireless controller with more advanced features. Both controllers are characterised by their special design. A DualSense charging station is also included to charge the controllers.

Shawn Layden, one of the most well-known figures of the Sony PlayStation brand, made interesting statements through X (Twitter) account.

Sony has not neglected nostalgic touches in the pre-order package. The package includes a special cable connector slot reminiscent of the original PlayStation controller’s cable connection and four cable ties inspired by PlayStation shapes. It also includes a limited edition PlayStation poster, one of 30 different designs, a PlayStation sticker and, interestingly, a PlayStation paperclip.

The fact that this special edition sold out so quickly shows the importance PlayStation fans attach to the brand’s history. At the same time, it shows that despite the high prices, the demand for special edition products is high. Sony’s move can be expected to encourage other game console manufacturers to release similar special editions.

The PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle sold out before 24 hours in many countries, including the UK. It is currently unclear whether Sony will offer this special edition for pre-order again.
