The fierce race environment in the smartphone world continues to grow. Many powerful smartphone manufacturers aim to increase their share in the cake by producing their own powerful models in this field. Xiaomi, one of the strong names of the industry, aims to come up with an interesting device.
Xiaomi solves the folding trace problem with the phone that splits in two
Foldable devices are among the most popular trends in the smartphone world recently. So much so that many manufacturers compete with each other in this field. Xiaomi, on the other hand, puts forth a performance that attracts attention with its powerful foldable devices.
Nevertheless, the foldable smartphone world is at the very beginning of the road and continues to experience some problems. So much so that Apple, the most powerful name in the industry, has not released a foldable smartphone because it cannot overcome the folding track problem.
Companies such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Samsung have found a solution to some extent to the folding trace problem caused by hinges. However, it is still not completely resolved. Xiaomi has an interesting initiative in this field. Xiaomi is preparing to launch a phone that splits into two.
A patent revealed by 91Mobiles on the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) platform shows that Xiaomi is working on a device that splits into two parts. The model, which is expected to be released next year, is quite similar to Xiaomi’s Mix Flip foldable phone design.

If we look at the leaked design, Xiaomi seems to have started from the foldable smartphone design. Instead of a folding hinge, the device folds completely separately. In addition, the device will be able to rotate around an axis to take photos or record videos.
