After the iPhone event in September, it seems Apple is getting ready to take the stage again. Expected to make an announcement this month, Apple is likely to update some Mac and iPad models. While there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, here are the expected innovations for the new iMac models powered by the M4 chip.
M4 iMac to Deliver 25% More Performance
Last October, Apple transitioned from the M1 chip to the M3 chip with its iMac models. However, this time, Apple is expected to introduce iMacs powered by the M4 chip instead of another chip transition. With this, the M4 iMac will move from an 8-core processor to a 10-core one, delivering approximately 20-25% more performance.
Apple, which has been transitioning nearly all its devices to USB-C ports, is expected to follow the same path with the new iMac. The company must switch from Lightning to USB-C by the end of the year due to European regulations, and with the new iMac, we may see Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad introduced with USB-C support.
The fastest Apple mobile devices have been announced. When we look at the ranking, we see that the recently released iPhone 16 Pro Max is not the first.
Another expected innovation could be expanded RAM options. According to popular analysts, M4 Macs will come with at least 16GB of RAM, and iMacs might offer configurations up to 32GB. The previous M3 iMac model offered up to 24GB of RAM.
Apple has always differentiated its 24-inch iMac models. The base model includes 2 Thunderbolt ports, while the higher-end models feature 2 Thunderbolt and 2 standard USB-C ports. According to new rumors, all ports in the new iMacs may be Thunderbolt. Lastly, it’s said that Wi-Fi 7 support will be offered as standard.
