Recently, YouTube expanded the length of Shorts videos from 60 seconds to 180 seconds and updated the design of a feature that had not changed for a long time. Many Android and iOS users are currently experiencing this new design.
YouTube Refreshes Mini Player Design
When watching videos on YouTube, users often minimize them to navigate and browse other content in the background. In such cases, a mini video player comes into play, making tasks a bit easier.
However, until recently, this mini player had a strip-like design that was criticized for being not entirely functional. Fortunately, recent developments show that YouTube has completely revamped the mini player based on user feedback.
Many users have begun to notice the change in the design of the strip-like mini player. With the new design, you can now easily move the mini player anywhere on the screen. Additionally, it includes options to rewind and fast-forward videos by 10 seconds, a play/pause button, and a close button.
But that’s not all. If you don’t like the size of the player, you can adjust its dimensions to your preference by pinching in or out with two fingers.
This design change on YouTube’s mobile platform is currently available to all users, regardless of whether they are on Android or iOS. If you still see the old design in your app, you may want to try updating it.
