Qualcomm has raised the bar in mobile gaming with its next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. According to leaked information, the highly anticipated processor can run a game with high graphics requirements, such as Red Dead Redemption, at over 160 FPS. But is this really possible?
Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is claimed to exceed 160 FPS in Red Dead Redemption
Seeing this kind of performance on mobile devices is an important development that brings the mobile gaming experience closer to console and PC level. If the leaks are true, the Snapdragon 8 Elite will offer mobile gamers unrivaled performance with high speed, smoothness and realistic graphics.
A screenshot shared by @4k_isn on X shows a Snapdragon 8 Elite phone allegedly running Red Dead Redemption at 161.7 FPS. The post doesn’t specify which visual settings were selected, but the phone is likely running the game at the lowest possible options.
The device was previously seen running Assassin’s Creed Black Flag at an almost constant 60 FPS. Again, it’s unclear what visual settings the game is running at, but the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Adreno 840 can reportedly deliver 40% better performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s Adreno 750.
Qualcomm’s new architecture plays a big role in the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s ability to deliver this performance. Thanks to its optimized energy efficiency and powerful graphics processing unit (GPU), the processor not only prevents the device from overheating during long gaming sessions, but also maintains high frame rates.
This ensures that the gaming experience continues in high quality for a long time, not just for short moments. In other words, with Snapdragon 8 Elite, games can be enjoyed for long periods of time with high FPS values.
Apart from performance, Snapdragon 8 Elite is also ambitious with its visuals. The new processor works in perfect harmony with displays with 120Hz and even 144Hz refresh rates. For mobile games, this will provide a much smoother gameplay, especially in moving scenes.
When gaming, you’ll be able to see every detail clearly, without any freezing or stuttering. Snapdragon 8 Elite plans to deliver speed and quality never seen before in mobile gaming, and will set a new standard for users who prefer high frame rate games.
With the official launch on November 19, other details of Snapdragon 8 Elite will be revealed. What do you think about this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
