The countdown continues for Tesla’s highly anticipated Model Y Juniper. New images have emerged, giving us a closer look at the front bumper of the Tesla Model Y Juniper. Although the front and rear parts of the Juniper are covered with camouflage tarpaulin, an opening can be seen in the front bumper, suggesting a camera placement similar to Cybertruck. What do these details mean?
The countdown has begun for the Tesla Model Y Juniper tested in traffic
The Tesla Model Y Juniper has been on the streets in camouflaged test vehicles for several months now. In prototypes tested in the US and Europe, we have already seen the rear light bar reminiscent of the Cybertruck and Robotaxi models. Now we also have some clues about the front bumper.
The new model comes with new details such as the Cybertruck-inspired parking camera on the front bumper. This will provide more visibility during low-speed parking maneuvers and off-road driving. However, it’s worth noting that the front camera we saw on the Cybertruck doesn’t support autonomous driving functionality; it will only offer extra safety in everyday driving scenarios.
It is not certain whether the camera on the front bumper will be permanent in the final version; however, a similar camera component seen in the Model 3 Highland during the testing phase was removed in the last model. However, considering the Model Y’s high structure and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions, it is quite likely that the parking camera will be included in this model.
The Tesla Model Y Juniper, which is expected to be introduced next quarter, will not be limited to design updates. Tesla plans to increase battery efficiency by offering this model with 4680 or CATL battery options. In addition, the 800V high voltage and 48V low voltage architecture will optimize the vehicle’s energy management, providing longer range and shorter charging times.
In addition, Juniper, which will have the HW4 FSD (Fully Autonomous Driving) kit, will come equipped with advanced driving support systems. Tesla will equip the vehicle with a more powerful powertrain, ventilated seats and innovative interior lighting.
Meanwhile, Tesla’s plans to offer the Model Y Juniper with all these improvements at the same price band or at a more competitive level could be a very attractive option for users. What do you think about this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
