The iPhone 16 model achieved outstanding results in the camera test. Apple’s flagship device ranked among the top 20 devices in the global rankings. The model, which received 147 points in the tsets conducted by DxOMark, left its strongest competitor behind.
The iPhone 16, which surpassed the Galaxy S24 Ultra in the tests, also achieved better results than the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. Here are all the details about the test…
iPhone 16 achieved impressive results in the camera test
Regarding the positive aspects of the camera, DxOMark praised the brightness and contrast in the content displayed in HDR mode on the device. Another advantage reported by the analysis was the recording of skin tones in both photos and videos. The use of zoom in the previews also proved to be quite smooth.
The iPhone 16 showed a high level of detail when shooting indoors in the camera test. Autofocus was also praised for its speed and accuracy. In terms of video, the device showed a controlled noise level and its stabilization proved to be effective.
As for the negative points, the model had a more limited dynamic range, which resulted in cropping, whether in photos or videos. Similarly, it was possible to notice flare effects and other defects in photos, while the zoom capabilities were subject to limitations due to the lack of a dedicated sensor.
There was also a flare effect in the videos and there was a loss of detail in low-light shooting. The results also showed noise in some shadows in the frames and in low-light scenarios.
DxOMark managed to show a good level of performance in photos. This was not a big surprise, considering that many features from the previous generation were preserved, and details such as autofocus and lens usage speed were improved.
