WhatsApp is working on a new multifunctional sharing bar feature that will make it much easier for users to share content on social media platforms. Thanks to the feature discovered in the 2.24.25.20 beta version of WhatsApp for Android, sharing will now be much more effortless. So how is the feature used? Details in our news…
How does WhatsApp’s multi-share bar work?
The new sharing bar at the bottom of the screen in the WhatsApp app allows users to easily upload content directly to platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X and Snapchat. Users will no longer have to download content from one platform and upload it to another.
There is also a special sharing option for WhatsApp channels. When a channel update is shared, a unique link is automatically generated and can be easily shared to other social media platforms.
The sharing bar also includes a “More” option to access platforms other than specific apps. In other words, it allows users to deliver their content to more apps according to their needs. Meanwhile, other innovations are on the way beyond the sharing bar. Here are those features:
Channel sharing with QR Code: Channel sharing via QR code is currently being tested for both Android and iOS users.
Transcribing voice messages: Expected features such as converting voice messages to text are still under development.
Loss of support for older iOS devices: As of May 2025, WhatsApp will support iOS 15.1 and above, meaning older devices with older versions will no longer receive updates.
Meanwhile, Android users will get access to these features sooner. Also, the release date for iOS users has not been announced yet. What do you think about the new features? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
