The anticipation for the Galaxy S25 series, which Samsung is preparing to unveil early next year, continues to build. The biggest question surrounding these smartphones is undoubtedly about the processors they will use. Recently, a new development has added even more intrigue to this mystery.
Galaxy S25+ Spotted in Performance Test with Exynos 2500
The Galaxy S25+, bearing the model number SM-S936B, has appeared on Geekbench. The smartphone achieved a score of 2,358 in single-core tests and 8,211 in multi-core tests, confirming some of its technical specifications.
The prototype tested was powered by the Exynos 2500 processor, which suggests that Samsung has not abandoned its in-house chips, contrary to earlier rumors.
The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra’s global versions have been listed in the FCC database with the model numbers SM-S931B, SM-S936B, and SM-S938B.
This is not the first time the Galaxy S25+ has appeared in performance tests. Just last week, the smartphone was tested with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, scoring 3,160 in single-core and 9,941 in multi-core tests on Geekbench.
When comparing the Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite variants on paper, it’s evident that there’s a significant performance gap. In past years, there were similar rumors about noticeable differences between the Exynos and Qualcomm versions of the series. It seems this trend will continue this year as well.
The key question here is the distribution of Exynos and Qualcomm processors. Although there’s no official announcement yet, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to take center stage. Samsung may limit the use of its Exynos 2500 chip to a few countries.
