Ubisoft has become one of the most controversial and unpopular companies in the world in recent years: Especially the French game producer, which has been criticised by the players for releasing its games with very few innovations and changes in an almost automatised way and not making radical changes, is preparing to defeat its bad luck with Far Cry 7. Here are the details and what you need to know!
Far Cry 7 will trash the classic game mechanics of the series!
According to leaked information, Far Cry 7 is being developed under the code name Blackbird and changes the game mechanics of the series from start to finish. At the centre of the game will be a character whose family has been kidnapped, and players will struggle to rescue the family within a 24 hour real-time period. The duration will be reflected in the game as a 72-hour time frame and can be tracked on a watch on the player’s wrist.
There are also serious innovations in the mechanics of the game. Movement systems such as tactical running, sliding and climbing have been added to Far Cry 7. It is also stated that the looting and inventory system will be handled in more depth compared to previous Far Cry projects.
We can honestly say that Ubisoft took a big risk with Blackbird. Although the release date has been postponed to 2026 due to difficulties in the development process of the game, the Ubisoft Montreal team is very confident in the project. On the other hand, it is rumoured that the Far Cry series is being developed with another game codenamed Maverick, and this project will be a production set in the wilds of Alaska.
With Far Cry 7, Ubisoft aims to both please old fans and take the series in a completely different direction. Well, can these radical changes change the fate of the series, or will it be a risky step? Don’t forget to share your opinions in the comments!
