Samsung’s first major launch in 2025, the Galaxy S25 Unpacked event, will take place on January 22 in San Jose, California. The company is preparing to showcase its innovative technologies along with the new Galaxy S25 series. Apart from the traditional Galaxy S series devices, the launch will also include presentations on Samsung’s future products. So what can we expect?
Samsung Galaxy S25 Unpacked event starts on January 22nd!
We expect Samsung to come with three models (Standard, Plus and Ultra) in the Galaxy S25 series. Judging by recent leaks, the devices will feature minor design changes with thinner bezels, rounded corners and flattened edges. All of the devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Samsung will introduce the Android 15-based One UI 7 interface in this series. Features that improve the user experience will be at the forefront, especially with artificial intelligence integration. However, it is stated that Samsung prefers to use the previous generation M13 panels instead of the new M14 OLED panels for OLED displays. So what will we see on the camera side?
The camera system of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will largely remain the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, minor upgrades are expected on the Ultra model, such as an ultra-wide-angle sensor upgraded from 12 MP to 50 MP. In addition, all devices in the series will support the Qi2 wireless charging standard. However, Samsung is reportedly planning to sell an extra case for the MagSafe-like magnetic charging feature.
Galaxy Ring 2 and AR glasses
According to DigiTimes, Samsung may also unveil the second-generation Galaxy Ring health tracker and augmented reality (AR) glasses. We expect the Galaxy Ring 2 to come with longer battery life and advanced sensors. Samsung’s AR glasses may be developed in collaboration with Google and equipped with Gemini AI features.
XR headset: Project Moohan
Samsung may also unveil the XR headset codenamed Project Moohan, developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. This device is rumored to feature a high-resolution display, video switching technology and native multimode inputs to rival the Apple Vision Pro.
