League of Legends (LoL) players have been in a huge backlash in recent days, and Riot Games has finally backed down. While the changes that made it harder for players to access content drew a huge backlash, a storm of negative comments on social media and calls for the CEO to resign forced the company to back down. Here are the decisions Riot has taken back and the new regulations it has offered to players…
Hextech chests are returning for LoL
Riot Games is reversing the changes it made for LoL that drew a huge backlash from players. The company has decided to bring Hextech Chests back to the game and has halved the Blue Essence prices of champions.

With the last update, players’ chances of earning free content were significantly reduced. However, after the intense backlash and a player boycott, Riot has backed down. It will now be possible to earn 10 Hextech Chests and Keys in each Act. Eight of these can be obtained from the free battle pass and two from the Honor system.
In addition, Riot Games has also decided to postpone the Sahn Uzal Mordekaiser Exalted skin, which was criticized for being overly expensive. The company announced that it will work on improving the quality of Exalted skins in the future, and stated that a new Exalted skin will not be released in every Akt this year.
LoL Clash tournaments will also be made monthly again. The Your Shop feature will return in patch 25.06, and the Blue Essence Emporium will reopen in patch 25.07.
Players are sharing their victories on social media. While one user on Reddit commented, “Never stop pushing companies!”, another argued that Riot could make similar moves in the future and that players should be careful.
