Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 17 Air model by bringing a major innovation to the iPhone series this year. According to rumours, this new device, which will replace the Plus model at the event in September, will attract attention with its ultra-thin design. The latest information shows that the dimensions of the phone are officially known.
Dimensions of iPhone 17 Air revealed
Rumoured to be the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever produced, the iPhone 17 Air will be only 5.5 mm thick. This incredible figure was described as a big surprise in the industry. Although the device comes with the same screen size and case dimensions as the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the biggest difference will be this ultra-thin structure. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max model is expected to be 8.725 mm thick.

It is also stated that iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air will maintain the 163 mm x 77.6 mm dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. There will be no change on the screen side and both models will appear with a 6.9-inch LTPO Super Retina panel.
However, it is claimed that Apple will switch to a new camera island design in the iPhone 17 series and the iPhone 17 Air model will adapt to this design. However, the device will only have a single rear camera. From this point of view, it can be said that the iPhone 17 Air is positioned as an iPhone 16e model with premium features.
Although there are various rumours about the hardware specifications of iPhone 17 Air, there is a general consensus on some points. Accordingly, the device will have a standard A19 chip, Dynamic Island, Apple-designed 5G modem, single rear camera and aluminium frame. In addition, the phone is expected to come with Face ID, 48MP rear camera, 24MP front camera and 8GB RAM with Apple Intelligence support.
