Ubisoft is preparing to release Assassin’s Creed Shadows on March 20 for PC and next-gen consoles. The company has shared details about how the game will perform on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The console versions of the game will feature three different performance modes: Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced.
Technical details of Assassin’s Creed Shadows have emerged
Performance mode will target 60 FPS, lowering the rendering resolution and optimizing the graphics settings to keep the frame rate at the highest level. For PS5 Pro users, advanced visual improvements will be offered thanks to Ubisoft’s new ray-traced global illumination technology. Fidelity mode, on the other hand, will focus on graphical quality and will run at 30 FPS, and will include features such as higher resolution, ray-traced lighting, advanced shadows, and detailed texture rendering.
In addition, Balanced mode, designed for high-refresh-rate monitors, will strike a balance between quality and performance and run at 40 FPS. This option, which has a similar configuration to the Fidelity mode, will maintain the overall visual quality, although it will experience a slight decrease in rendering resolution.
In addition to sharing technical details, Ubisoft also released a new 20-minute gameplay video of the game. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PC (Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Apple Silicon Macs, and Amazon Luna platforms as of March 20.
