iOS 18.5 update released! Here’s what’s new
Apple has released the iOS 18.5 update for iPhone. In addition to new features, the update also includes improvements that increase security across the system. iOS 18.5 will fix vulnerabilities in core functions such as Bluetooth, FaceTime, CoreAudio, and Mail.

A new notification system has been introduced with the update via the Screen Time feature. Now, when a child uses the Screen Time passcode on their iPhone, their parent’s device will be notified automatically. In addition, carrier-supported satellite connection support has been added to the iPhone 13 series. This support was previously only available on iPhone 14 and later models.
A new Pride Harmony-themed wallpaper has also been introduced to users. This wallpaper offers a dynamic visual experience with color transitions when the phone is moved or the screen lock is changed.
Thanks to an update to the Mail app, users can use a special toggle button to disable the new contact icons. In addition, a small interface change has been made to make it easier to view all emails. These innovations were not included in Apple’s official release notes, but were detected by users themselves.
The Buy with iPhone feature has also been expanded as part of the update. This feature can now be used for content purchases made through Apple TV apps on third-party devices.
Apple is closing more than 30 security vulnerabilities in total with the update. These include critical vulnerabilities affecting system components such as Search History, Bluetooth, CoreAudio, and AppleJPEG.
The iOS 18.5 update can be downloaded to all compatible iPhone models via the Settings > General > Software Update menu.
