Sony has increased the prices of PlayStation games in Turkey again. With the latest price hike, the standard version of the new AAA game Death Stranding 2 has increased to 3449 TL, while the special edition Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe version has increased to 3849 TL. Considering that the previous launch prices were around 2800 TL, it is seen that there has been a significant increase in prices.
PlayStation Store is on the agenda with new price hikes
In Turkey, PlayStation games are now priced directly based on the exchange rate instead of regional pricing. This situation causes prices to increase in parallel with fluctuations in the exchange rate. Sony has decided to increase game prices in some countries such as Brazil as well as Turkey. This move is considered to be part of the global trend of increasing game prices.

Especially popular AAA games such as Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yōtei, Silent Hill f and Metal Gear Solid Δ are sold in the 3449 TL range. In addition, games such as Dying Light: The Beast, Hell is Us, Ready or Not, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and The Alters have also seen price increases.
The basis of the price increases is that Sony’s UK office prices them based on pounds. With the added taxes, game prices in Turkey have exceeded global standards.
When calculated with the current exchange rate, game prices of around 3449 TL are equivalent to approximately 86.5 dollars. While this price is being discussed in the US to lower the price of games to 80 dollars, the fact that games are approaching 90 dollars in Turkey has drawn reactions among gamers on social media.
Sony’s closing of its PlayStation office in Turkey and its transition from regional pricing to a completely exchange rate-based model are causing increases that are directly reflected in gamers’ budgets. It is expected that game prices on the PlayStation Store will continue to rise in the coming period.
