Xiaomi has responded clearly to rumors that its partnership with Leica has ended and has categorically denied these claims. Xiaomi’s General Manager of Public Relations Wang Hua denied the claims by making an official statement on the subject. Wang, referring to a similar rumor that previously emerged in June 2023, said, “Last year, a blogger made the claim that the Xiaomi 14 would be the last model with Leica. At that time, I called this claim ‘nonsense’. This time, a name has been given, but my response is the same: This is nonsense!” Wang’s harsh statement once again revealed the company’s confidence in its partnership with Leica.

Xiaomi has emphasized that its partnership with Leica is not only continuing, but also getting stronger. The company has taken several steps to reinforce this partnership in the past year. In May, Xiaomi’s camera team updated its watermark designs to match Leica’s global visual identity. In June, a detailed explanation of Leica’s “Authentic” and “Vivid” image profiles was shared, while it was announced that Leica’s iconic shutter sounds would be added to the older models.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra stands out as one of the most striking examples of the Xiaomi-Leica partnership. The device is equipped with Leica-optimized optical lenses, Leica’s signature color modes, and a user interface adorned with red accents. It also includes six different Leica-style tone presets and special image processing algorithms developed in collaboration with Leica’s imaging experts.

Xiaomi India has made a statement to put an end to the rumors. “Xiaomi and Leica have been working closely to integrate advanced optical and imaging technologies into Xiaomi devices.
