Asus is shaking up the price dynamics in the OLED gaming monitor category with the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS. Launched in China, the model is attracting attention with its price drop to $474 thanks to subsidies in certain regions. Its actual retail price is set at $558, making it one of the most affordable gaming monitors in the OLED category.
Introducing the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS
The 27-inch QD-OLED panel offers a 1440p resolution. Its refresh rate can reach up to 280Hz. The monitor boasts high technical performance with 99% DCI-P3 color gamut support, 10-bit true color depth, and a gray-to-gray response time of just 0.03 milliseconds. It also boasts a Delta E < 2 color accuracy.

Asus uses a new sensor technology in this model to combat the common problem of burn-in (screen burn-in), which is common in OLED panels. This system, called the NEO Proximity Sensor, reduces panel wear by dimming the image when the user moves away from the screen.
In addition, Asus offers a warranty against panel burn-in specifically for this model. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode support. The USB-C port also provides 15W power output.
The product is currently only available in the Chinese market. Its price advantage, achieved through regional subsidies, is a development that will reshape the competition in the OLED gaming monitor segment.
