The chip and memory configurations of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series, which will be unveiled in September, have been revealed in a new leak shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. According to the latest information, RAM and processor details for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been revealed.
iPhone 17 Series Hardware Specifications Become Clear
According to the leak, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature an A19 Pro processor with a 6-core GPU. Both models feature 12GB of RAM. The same processor is also used in the iPhone 17 Air. However, the Air’s GPU is reportedly limited to 5 cores. The iPhone 17 Air also comes with 12GB of RAM. The entry-level iPhone 17 is equipped with an A19 processor and 8GB of RAM.

This information largely aligns with previous statements made by Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In his April assessment, Kuo suggested that the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and Pro Max models would feature 12GB of RAM, but he also stated that there was uncertainty about the RAM capacity of the base model.
At the time, it was reported that potential RAM supply constraints contributed to this uncertainty. The latest leak resolves this uncertainty, revealing that only the base model will feature 8GB of RAM.
Compared to the iPhone 16 series, there’s a noticeable increase in RAM. While the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max models each come with 8GB of RAM, the Pro, Pro Max, and Air models in the iPhone 17 series move to 12GB of RAM. The Air model, in particular, is closer to the Pro level in terms of processor and RAM.
While not yet confirmed by Apple, the shared specifications appear to largely clarify the basic configurations of the iPhone 17 series ahead of its September launch.
