Huawei’s new tri-fold phone, the Mate XT 2, has been the subject of detailed leaks before its official launch. This second-generation device features significant updates over its predecessor in both design and hardware.
Huawei Mate XT 2 Coming Soon
One of the most striking features of the yet-to-be-announced Mate XT 2 is its 5G and satellite connectivity support. These two features enable the device to provide high-speed data communication and maintain communication between the user and the outside world even in environments without network connectivity. In this respect, Huawei’s device stands out not only as a smartphone but also as a functional device even in areas where communication infrastructure is lacking.

The color options also surpass the previous generation. The Mate XT 2, which is rumored to be available in four different colors: black, red, purple, and white, offers users greater personalization options. This variety of design reflects the brand’s efforts to appeal to a wider user base in the premium segment.
Regarding durability, information has been leaked that it uses UFG (ultra-fine glass). This glass technology doesn’t aim to offer greater resistance to scratches and flexing, which is common with foldable displays; it directly provides it. Huawei appears to have overcome the durability limitations of the first model with this version.
Under the hood, Huawei is said to be powered by the Kirin 9020 processor used in the Pura 80 series. This in-house processor offers a significant leap forward over Huawei’s previous-generation processors, particularly in terms of artificial intelligence, graphics power, and efficiency. The Mate XT 2’s inclusion of this processor makes the device not only a design marvel but also a top-tier option in terms of performance.
Regarding the display, the device boasts a 10.2-inch screen when fully unfolded. This screen size elevates the Mate XT 2 beyond a traditional phone and brings it closer to tablet functionality. This size offers users ample workspace, particularly for productivity, multitasking, and multimedia use.
No release date or price information has been released yet. However, the previous model’s global expansion after its limited market launch suggests a similar strategy could be pursued for this device. While the launch date remains unknown, Huawei’s product schedule suggests an official announcement is likely towards the end of the year.
