Apple is preparing to make a splash this fall with two new Apple Home products, alongside the iPhone 17 series. The company’s plans also include the introduction of the next-generation Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2.
New Apple Home products to be unveiled
Both devices will feature Apple’s own wireless chip, developed in-house. This chip is expected to provide more stable and faster data synchronization over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The devices will strengthen Apple’s hardware infrastructure for its smart home ecosystem.
The previous Apple TV 4K model was released approximately three years ago. The new version is reportedly powered by the A18 or A17 Pro chip. One of the main reasons for this update is the Apple Intelligence features that will be integrated with tvOS 26.
These AI-powered features, details of which have not yet been fully disclosed, are planned to be introduced with the new Apple TV 4K. Furthermore, information suggesting a built-in camera has been found in code in tvOS 26. If this feature is implemented, the Apple TV 4K will be the first device to offer a built-in camera for video calling and smart home interactions.
The second generation of the HomePod mini is also among the products to be introduced this fall. The smart speaker, first released in 2020, features more advanced wireless connectivity in the new version. Support for Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 will improve inter-device connectivity while providing lower latency and higher data transfer rates.
The current HomePod mini uses the S5 processor found in the Apple Watch. The new model is expected to feature the S9 or S10 chip. This could allow for the integration of Apple Intelligence features into the HomePod mini 2. New color options are also reportedly available.
Apple is making a significant update to its home technology offering this fall with the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2. With the HomePod Touch, scheduled for release in the spring, the Apple Home product line could become more comprehensive. The company’s move aims to reinforce hardware-software integrity, especially in products centered around Apple Intelligence.
