Samsung’s flagship phone lineup is in turmoil. The familiar trio of Standard, Plus, and Ultra models may be a thing of the past with the Galaxy S26 series, set to be unveiled in 2026. A significant leak today has virtually confirmed that the tech giant will pursue a radical rebranding strategy. The Galaxy S26 Pro is definitely coming.
According to reliable source SammyPolice, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro has been listed in the official GSMA database. The most interesting part is that the listed model number is SM-S942. This model number has been linked to the standard Galaxy S26 model in previous leaks. This is seen as the most concrete evidence yet that Samsung is directly changing the name of the base model to Pro.

This development has also rekindled the rumor, circulating a few weeks ago, that the Galaxy S26 Plus will be replaced by the Galaxy S26 Edge. It appears that Samsung will opt for the following configurations in its new series:
- Galaxy S26 Pro (replacing the standard model)
- Galaxy S26 Edge (replacing the Plus model)
- Galaxy S26 Ultra (remaining the top-of-the-line model)
Will the Galaxy S26 Pro offer any new features?
Based on current information, the Pro moniker could be primarily a marketing and rebranding move. Leaks suggest that despite the name change, the phone’s hardware may be identical to the initially planned standard S26. However, since the phone’s specifications are still unclear, it’s too early to say for sure.
Many details are already known about the top-of-the-line Galaxy S26 Ultra. Rumors suggest the Ultra model will feature significant improvements, including a thinner and lighter design, an improved display, a faster processor, next-generation camera sensors, and faster charging. It appears Samsung is preparing for a major strategy shift that will attract considerable attention.
