Power Rangers are back this time, trading Angel Grove for the Fortnite Island, just in time to stomp out a full-blown bug invasion.
Power Rangers join Fortnite in upcoming season
The new season of Fortnite, titled Shock ‘N Awesome, kicks off August 7, and it’s already swarming with trouble. The battle royale map has been overrun by creepy crawlies, thanks to a lingering tentacle from last week’s kraken-style event. It’s weird, even by Fortnite standards, but don’t worry, help is on the way.
Today’s live-action trailer shows several Fortnite originals getting overwhelmed by oversized insects. Then, out of nowhere, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers drop in to clean house. And when things escalate? The Dino Megazord delivers the final stomp.
Power Rangers content lands in Fortnite’s item shop
According to Epic’s official breakdown, five classic Rangers will be available through the item shop mid-August:
- Red Ranger
- Black Ranger
- Pink Ranger
- Yellow Ranger
- Blue Ranger
Each skin stays true to its ‘90s roots, from the helmets to the poses. The Dino Megazord won’t be sold separately; it’s locked inside the Shock ‘N Awesome battle pass.
Power Rangers headline a packed new season
Beyond the morphin squad, the new battle pass includes a chaotic mix of characters. Leaks and teasers point to:
- A brand-new Spartan from Halo
- A woman with weaponized robotic arms
- A panda mercenary wearing an eye patch
It’s business as usual for Fortnite: just enough nostalgia to lure you in, then total mayhem to keep you grinding.
Fortnite morphs again, and the chaos works
This isn’t Fortnite’s first ‘90s throwback, but it might be its most unhinged. Mixing bug monsters with morphin time and mechs shouldn’t work, but somehow, it clicks. The Island is weird again, and that’s when Fortnite shines.
Power Rangers arrive with live-action nostalgia
What really sets this launch apart is the trailer’s throwback energy. Styled like a lost ‘90s TV spot, it blends cheesy hero poses, grainy filters, and slow-motion standoffs that feel ripped straight from Saturday morning. It’s not subtle, and that’s the point. Fortnite’s always thrived on spectacle, but this time, it’s wearing spandex.
