Qualcomm’s new mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, attracted attention with its high performance in the Geekbench 6.4 test. Scoring 3,393 in the single-core test and 11,515 in the multi-core test, the processor demonstrated a nearly 9 percent increase in single-core performance compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The device in the test is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge, and it is thought to be the “for Galaxy” version of the processor. The device featured 12 GB of RAM and Android 16.

During the test, the processor’s CPU cores ran at 4.0 GHz instead of its maximum speed of 4.74 GHz. This means that the performance recorded in the test does not fully reflect the processor’s true potential, and the future version may achieve higher scores.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 features a total of eight cores: two at 4.74 GHz and six at 3.63 GHz. The core structure also features significant improvements compared to the previous model.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor will be used in many high-end phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, the Xiaomi 16 series, the OnePlus 15 series, the Honor Magic 8, the Realme GT 8 Pro, the Nubia Red Magic 11, and the Redmi K90.
Qualcomm is expected to unveil this new processor on September 23rd. Full specifications and performance details of the processor will be officially announced at the launch. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is poised to raise the bar on performance in the mobile processor market.
