Xiaomi is preparing to take the huge success it achieved with its first electric sedan, the SU7, to the next level. A longer, more luxurious prototype spotted testing in China has revealed that the company is now working on a comfort-focused “official vehicle.” This new model, expected to hit the roads in 2026, is expected to be called the Xiaomi SU7 L.
Xiaomi SU7 L Expands in Dimensions, Focusing on Comfort
According to spy photos, the most striking change is in the vehicle’s dimensions. The current SU7’s length, approximately 5 meters, will increase to 5.2 meters in the new SU7 L. The 80- to 150-millimeter increase in wheelbase directly translates to more spacious living space for rear seat passengers. This change will transform the SU7 from its sporty character into a luxury sedan offering exceptional comfort, especially on long journeys.

The interior will also emphasize luxury. Rear passengers are expected to feature features such as wider and more comfortable seats, personal multimedia screens, and even a small refrigerator. It’s also stated that much higher-quality and premium materials will be used compared to the standard model, reinforcing the perception of luxury.
What will the price be?
Xiaomi is targeting a higher segment with the SU7 L, and this is reflected in the price. The vehicle is expected to be sold at around 400,000 yuan (approximately $55,800). This price puts it more expensive than rivals like the BYD Han L (279,800 yuan). For comparison, the standard SU7 starts at 215,900 yuan (approximately $30,180).
The SU7 L, which Xiaomi plans to launch in 2026, clearly demonstrates the brand’s ambitions in the electric car market and its strategy to expand its product range. Following the success of its sporty sedan, the company is now targeting users seeking luxury and comfort.
