Nintendo has dropped a fresh update for its Nintendo Music service, and this week’s spotlight is on a fan-favorite from the 3DS era: Fire Emblem: Awakening. The full soundtrack is now available to Switch Online subscribers, adding another major entry to the growing audio library.
Fire Emblem: Awakening joins the Nintendo Music lineup

Originally released in 2012, Fire Emblem: Awakening is widely credited with reviving interest in the long-running tactical RPG series. Now, more than a decade later, its memorable soundtrack is finally streamable through the Nintendo Music app.
To access the music, users must have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The album joins other Fire Emblem soundtracks already on the platform, including:
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
A preview of the Awakening tracks was shared via Nintendo’s Japanese Fire Emblem account, featuring signature themes like “Id (Purpose)” and “Don’t Speak Her Name!”
Fire Emblem-themed Switch Online icons now available
In addition to the soundtrack, Nintendo has added Fire Emblem: Awakening character icons to its rotating Switch Online icon rewards. These unlock through the Game Boy Advance app, where players can access classic Fire Emblem titles.
The update also includes new F-Zero icons, expanding the available rewards for fans of Nintendo’s retro racing series.
Nintendo Music continues steady expansion
Over time, the Nintendo Music app has quietly grown into a go-to destination for first-party soundtracks. Now featuring music from major series like Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, and most recently, Fire Emblem, it’s become a strong companion to the Switch ecosystem. Thanks to weekly updates, the music library continues to expand with fresh additions. As a result, Switch Online members have even more reason to stay subscribed. With Fire Emblem: Awakening now in the lineup, fans of strategy games have the perfect excuse to revisit its unforgettable score.
