Huawei’s newest flagship series, the Mate 80, will stand out with its impressive features. According to the leak, this four-model series will offer significant innovations in design, camera, and performance, making it a strong competitor to the newly released iPhone 17 series.
According to the leaked information, the Huawei Mate 80 family will include four different models: the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro+, and Mate 80 RS. Each model will use different camera sensors:
- Mate 80: 50-megapixel 1/1.5-inch main sensor
- Mate 80 Pro: 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch main sensor
- Mate 80 Pro+ and Mate 80 RS: Larger 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch SmartSens 590 sensor
The display is also diverse. The Mate 80 Pro will feature a 2.5D flat screen and likely 3D facial recognition technology. Both 2.5D and 4D deep curved designs are reportedly being tested on the Pro+ and RS models.
The most notable model in the series will be the Mate 80 RS. This device is expected to feature a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display, offering higher brightness, lower power consumption, and longer lifespan. Huawei is also said to be working on a titanium alloy frame and a glass back with a ceramic-like texture to create a premium feel for this series.
The Kirin 9030 processor, which will power the phones, is claimed to feature significant internal design updates. The battery capacity is expected to exceed 6000 mAh and support 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Connectivity features are expected to include technologies such as 5G and satellite communication.
On the software front, HarmonyOS will continue to strengthen Huawei’s ecosystem advantage. eSIM support and expanded artificial intelligence (AI) features are also expected. Analysts predict that with these improvements, Huawei could close the gap with Apple, particularly in areas such as power efficiency, communication technology, and AI services.
