Apple has revealed the most and least expensive iPhone 17 series, which is available directly through its own stores in 38 countries without using a distributor. According to the analysis, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Air all command the highest prices in Turkey.
The Most Expensive iPhone 17 is in Turkey
According to the list compiled based on the prices of unlocked versions, the iPhone 17 256GB model is selling for 77,999 TL in Turkey, or $1,889. This price makes it the most expensive iPhone 17 in the world.

Brazil follows Turkey at $1,479, while the cheapest iPhone 17 is available in the US at $799 ($32,995). A similar situation applies to the iPhone 17 Air. The price in Turkey, at 97,999 TL, corresponds to $2,373, while the US, with its lowest price of $999 (41,250 TL), is at the bottom of the list.
The price difference for the top-of-the-line iPhone 17 Pro Max is even more pronounced. While the phone sells for 118,999 TL in Turkey, or $2,906, in the US, it remains at $1,199. This creates a price difference of approximately 70,000 TL between these two countries. Brazil follows Turkey with the lowest price at $2,311, and the US with the lowest price at $1,199.
The main reason for such high phone prices in Turkey is high tax rates. Turkey levies a 103% tax on mobile phones. This means that 50,887 TL of a 100,000 TL phone goes directly to tax.
This tax burden: The Ministry of Culture’s share is 1 percent, the TRT stamp duty is 12 percent, the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) is 50 percent, and the Value Added Tax (VAT) is 20 percent. What are your thoughts on this? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
