Samsung releases beta updates for two popular models!

Samsung has released the One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 as the stable release approaches.

Samsung is continuing its Android 16-based One UI 8.0 Beta Program, which launched earlier this month. The second beta version of this program, which began for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 users, has now been released. Here are the details.

This new update, currently released primarily in Korea, carries the software version number ZYI6. This update addresses some important bugs identified in the first beta and improves the user experience.

According to the update notes, One UI 8 Beta 2 fixes four key bugs:

    • Fixed an issue where the phone would suddenly restart during use.
    • Fixed an issue where DeX settings were not preserved when switching from a previous operating system to One UI 8.
    • Fixed an issue where the weather app on the Galaxy Watch 7 was not updating in real time. The issue where multi-windows were forced to close when the camera was open in the KakaoTalk chat room has been resolved.

Samsung is expected to release this update to beta users in other regions in the coming hours. If you’re a Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Z Flip 5 user enrolled in the beta program, you can update your phone by following Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
