Amazon to Compete with Meta and Samsung

Amazon is entering AR glasses market, which is dominated by Meta and Samsung. Amazon will intensify the competition with different models.

The race for augmented reality (AR) glasses is heating up among tech giants. As Meta prepares to launch its first AR glasses, it has emerged that Amazon is also poised to become a major player in this space. The company is developing two different AR glasses models for both the enterprise and consumer markets.

Rumors suggest that Amazon’s first AR glasses model will be a larger device with a monochrome display designed for delivery workers. Production of approximately 100,000 units of this model is expected by mid-2026. The second model, aimed at consumers, stands out with its full-color head-up display and sleek design.

These consumer-focused glasses are expected to launch in 2027, when Samsung is expected to release its second-generation AR glasses. This puts Amazon in direct competition with giants like Samsung, Apple, and Meta. While it’s still unclear which operating system Amazon will use for these new devices, Samsung is expected to opt for Android XR, developed in collaboration with Google.
