Samsung and Apple, two tech giants, are engaged in fierce competition when it comes to smartphone displays. According to the latest leaks, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, slated for release in 2026, will feature special display technologies that will surpass even the iPhone 17.
New Display Technologies Exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung has developed a special M14 OLED panel for its next-generation flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This panel increases brightness by 30 percent compared to previous M13 panels and extends the panel’s lifespan. This will offer users a more vibrant and long-lasting display experience.

But Samsung’s display innovation doesn’t end there. The M14 panel will incorporate Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology, which increases light transmittance and saves energy.
In addition, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a technology exclusive to this model: Flex Magic Pixel. This technology acts as a privacy screen without the need for any additional accessories. In other words, it will protect user privacy by preventing content from being visible when viewed from side angles.
Samsung’s move has caused a stir in the tech world. Rumors suggest that Apple’s iPhone 17 series will also use the new M14 OLED panels. However, Samsung is taking a step ahead of Apple by making its CoE and Flex Magic Pixel technologies exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Unfortunately, Samsung is expected to use this special display only on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge are expected to come with the older M13 panels.
In addition to these innovations, there is also talk of the Galaxy S26 Ultra featuring Samsung’s in-house developed Exynos 2600 chipset for the first time in three years. This signals that the phone will also be ambitious on the hardware front.
